Yerba Buena Gardens is a majestic yet exciting oasis full of beautiful plants, flowers, and gardens as well as cafes, an ice skating rink, art museum, and so much more.
Yerba Buena can be translated from Spanish to mean "good herb" and is named for the abundance of wild mint that grew in the area during the 1800s. Today it is a diverse complex providing outdoor relaxation as well as a variety of activities for all ages. Visitors can relax on the grass and enjoy live music, or check out the bowling center.
There are so many beautiful sculptures, art pieces, fountains, and waterfalls as well as a memorial to Martin Luther King Jr. The Moscone Convention Center an the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts are both located here, and children will be sure to enjoy the carousel, labyrinth, and outdoor amphitheater.
