The Discovery Center at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory near San Francisco, CA is a very high tech institution that will interest many, particularly those that love science and discovery. The Discovery Center gives visitors a first hand look at their research programs, which are state of the art. In addition, you'll learn about the many tools used in their research as well as the capabilities of the computer world in solving many research problems. The Discovery Center is open Tuesday through Friday in the afternoons and select hours on Saturday. Due to the select security of the National Laboratory, visitors must pick up a badge at the Westgate Badge Office. They also have specific rules regarding photography and bringing in certain items.
