Opened in 1966, the iPayOne Center, formerly the San Diego Sports Arena, is an indoor arena that opened its doors to a variety of entertainment including football, ice hockey, basketball, boxing matches, concerts, stage shows, and sporting events.
The arena boasts of many great events in its history such as the famous 1973 Muhammad Ali versus Ken Norton fight in which Ali turned over his title to Norton and in 1970 Elvis delivered a brand new Cadillac for a lucky security guard from the King's hometown after playing a great show. After 36 years the arena still hosts top-of-the-line entertainment including The Harlem Globetrotters, Dancing with the Stars, and numerous musical geniuses like Justin Timberlake and Josh Groban.
The iPayOne Center remains the only ice arena facility in San Diego County, and hosts annual skating events such as the Stars on Ice and Champions on Ice shows, and the Disney holiday ice shows. The iPayOne Center is located on Sports Arena Boulevard in Point Loma, San Diego, CA.
