The starting point of luxurious Rolando Village, Rolando Boulevard is the heart of Southern California.
While very upscale and posh, Rolando is still a lively area that's widely visited for its many fun parades and street fairs. The community gathers frequently there and, despite a certain inclusiveness that seems to go hand-in-hand with all deluxe neighborhoods, all are welcome.
Homes were built here at first during the 1920s, where Spanish-style homes were where anyone who was anyone lived. What's interesting is that while the neighborhood was popular during the Spanish Colonial Revival, it wasn't until the 1940s that this site became a real hotspot.
After WWII, new movers flocked into Rolando Boulevard to balance out the numbers a bit- new houses were being built, and the population was nowhere near a delinquent as it once was.
A walk through Rolando promises a view of many styles of homes, from Tudor to Spanish Tile, to Ranch, to the modern suburb style seen today.
