Known as one of the more eclectic beaches and neighborhoods, Ocean Beach is full of quaint shops, a long fishing pier, beautiful shoreline, myriads of beach activities, and to the north there is even a dog beach, where Fido can run, free of leash!
Visitors can come to this area to swim, picnic, go bicycling, or play volleyball. And it's perfect for the surfer, but beware of the strong rip tides! There is truly something for everyone at Ocean Beach. Besides the many activities, the beach provides great access to Newport Avenue where you'll discover antique shops, surf shops, assorted shops, eateries, and much more.
Ocean Beach has separate swimming and surf zones, lifeguards, restrooms, showers, and handicap access. Parking is available at the end of Voltaire Street, Santa Monica Avenue and Newport Avenue.
