Perhaps one of the more interesting museums in San Diego, the Automotive Museum even features the smallest car ever. Exhibits change from time to time, but past exhibits have featured many different styles of dune buggies, including the first fiberglass dune buggy, a 1955 Thunderbird, and many more. The kids will be amazed at the "smallest car ever." This car is actually a Nash/AMC Metropolitan. This tiny little car was the brain child of President George Mason. It was his idea of the ultimate commuter/shopping car. Needless to say, it was not the hit he thought it was going to be. They also feature an electric racecar, motorcycles, new and old, and many more fun things.
The San Diego Automotive Museum is open at varying times. Be sure to call ahead to make sure it's available for you and your family to visit.
