Dining in San Diego

Restaurants in San Diego range from the luxurious to the quaint and quiet, and serve just about every dish your pallate might desire. While even those who live in San Diego have yet eat at every restaurant in the city, there are certainly a few that can help to make your stay as tastey as possible.

Mister A's has long been associated with classic preparations of steaks, chops, poultry and seafood. Try the signature lobster streudel or one of the many tantalizing appetizers, such as sauteed veal medallions or breaded goat cheese. Mister A's serves some of the city's finest wines, and no matter where you sit in the restaurant, you are guaranteed a fantastic view of the city.

George's California Modern Restaurant is a favorite of San Diego residents and visitors alike, serving up classic California cuisine like coriander crusted mahi-mahi and ceviche. Guests can see the ocean from the outdoor patio or get a fine drink at the bar.

Adjacent to Balboa park is Laurel, continously serving excellent mediterranean cuisine. Try such exotic dishes as Lemon Myrtle Spiced Ostrich or Grilled Hawaiian Spearfish. For the less daring, there is a wide variety of sumptuous meats and salads to choose from.

Donovan's Steak House has been consistently rated as one of the top steak houses in America, and offers a comfortable atmosphere and excellent steaks. Each cut of beef is prime (which says a lot considering only 1 percent of beef last year was high grade enough to be called prime). With over 800 bottles of wine, world class hospitality and a wide selection of deserts and appetisers, its no wonder why Donovan's is so popular in the San Diego area.

Sammy's Pizza has been prided as San Diego's best pizza restaurant for years. Sammy's features unique pizzas such as artichoke and goat cheese as well as old classics like peperoni and sausage. They also serve a number of other italian dishes and salads alongside rich deserts.

It's tough to go to San Diego and not eat seafood, and The Fish Market provides the freshest fish you'll find. With everything from shark to sushi and an ocean view, The Fish Market is the best choice for any seafood conoisseur.

These are just a few of the many restaurants available to you in San Diego, and there is never enough time to see them all--though with this many to choose from, there is no reason to be eating fast food during your next vacation.
