Yturri-Edmunds Historic Site in San Antonio, TX
One of the few remaining homes of its kind in San Antonio, the Yturri-Edmunds Historical Site is one of the most historically important buildings in the city. This adobe block house is a rare find, especially in the great condition that the Yturri-Edmunds home is. The home was built in the mid 19th century, probably between 1840-1860. The home isn't the only historical building on the site, however. There is a mill that was built in 1820 and operated until the early 1900s. A carriage house was erected in 1881 and is still in wonderful condition. Behind the main house is a reconstruction of a stone house that seems to have been originally built in the 1860s. Another interesting fact about this tract of land is that it was once a land grant approved by the Mexican government.
