Located at the top of the great San Antonio River, the zoo spreads over 35 acres of the land and has many different exhibits to explore while you are visiting.  It has one of the largest bird collections in the world that features a simulated tropical rain forest and free-flying birds.

The Richard Friedrich Aquarium was dedicated in 1948, it was described as the 'world's greatest.'

Kronsky Tiny Tot Nature Spot is a mini zoo for children under 5.  This is a great place to bring your child to let them get out of his or her stroller and burn off a little of that extra energy.  This area allows your little one's to climb, dig, to get wet and dirty while they explore nature. The theme of the exhibit is to 'Grow With Nature.'  The zoo plans different activities each day to ensure each zoo experience is different, fun, and exciting.
