For a look at San Antonio's historic past, be sure to visit the King William Historic District, located on the east side of the San Antonio River.
The King William Historic District is located in an area that once belonged to th Mission San Antonio de Valero, also known as the Alamo. Visitors the the Historic District are able to tour the area. The restored buildings in the district feauture different cultural styles including Victorian and Italian.
A couple of buildings located in the district are now open to the public. That is the Guenther House and the Edward Steves Homestead. The Guenther House is now known for its retail store, restaurant, and museum. the Edward Steves Homestead is a notable museum that dates back to the late 1800s.
