FORD Holiday River Parade & Lighting Ceremony on the River Walk in San Antonio, TX

Ford Holiday River Parade & Lighting Ceremony on the River Walk in San Antonio, TX The Ford Holiday River Parade & Lighting Ceremony is a spectacular display along the San Antonio river that displays magnificent lights hanging amongst the trees, cascading across the edges of the buildings, winding under the many bridges and enchanting the entire area that surrounds the river and the River Walk. This is a breathtaking sight to behold as the lights are suddenly clicked on while the anticipative crowd looks on. As soon as the lighting takes place there is a parade filled with spectacular floats that are also encrusted with festive lights with marching bands, celebrity guests and persons decked out in celebration costumes for the event. This entire event takes place at night immediately after Thanksgiving each year and the lights that are displayed for the event remain lit throughout the entire holiday season. The parade is one hour in length and it initializes the beginning of the year's Paseo del Rio Holiday Festivities. Each year the parade and the festivities carry with them a selected theme and persons who like can also purchase tickets of different denominations for reserved seating along the parade's route.
