Dedicated to preserving the military history of Utah, the Fort Douglas Museum has exhibits honoring the arrival of Johnston's army during the 1857 "Utah War" through Vietnam, and self-guided tours of the forts. The mueum also has many special events throughout the year, including the upcoming Army day celebration on June 17, the groundbreaking and expansion of the museum, also on June 17, and Utah WW2 History Talks held each Monday of each months at 7 pm.
All events and admission is free, and all grounds are open to the public, except for active military areas. Hours are Tuesday-Friday, 12 pm to 5 pm, and Saturday, 12 pm to 4 pm. The museum is closed Sundays, Mondays, and federal holiday week-ends
