While visiting Salt Lake City, be sure to stop and see the monument that honors Church leader and pioneer colonizer Brigham Young. Brigham Young led the first group of Mormon pioneers to Salt Lake Valley in 1847. The monument not only honors Young, but it also pays tribute to the fur trappers and Utah Indians. In 1893 the statue was first displayed at the Chicago World's Fair. It has since been moved to its current location.
