The Hogle Zoo also features 21 species on the AZA Species Survival Plan, giving you a chance to observe species in decline from across the globe. Since 1947, visitors to Salt Lake City have enjoyed strolling through the International Peace Garden. This gorgeous botanical area features lushly landscaped gardens arranged in themes from around the world. As you stroll through the gardens, take note of the 26 countries and 14 nations represented in the gardens through national flags, plaques, honorary statues, and more. The International Peace Garden is a wonderful way to explore other cultures while enjoying the great outdoors. On warm days, your family can cool off in a big way at the Raging Waters Waterpark. Raging Waters offers fun in the sun for all ages, and features water slides, wet adventure rides, pools, a giant hot tub, a water roller coaster, sand volleyball, and more. There is also a special area designed just for the smallest visitors, giving them a safe and fun place just their size to cool off and enjoy the water. Dog Lake Trail is a popular recreational area for families and furry friends alike. Dogwood Lake Trail offers trail heads through Cottonwood Canyon and Mill Creek Canyon that are perfect for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. You can also splash around in beautiful Dog Lake while you enjoy the spectacular scenery. Your family can also have a great time in the great outdoors at Liberty Park, located conveniently in central Salt Lake City. Here, you will find a playground, a boating pond, an amusement park, a snack bar, jogging trails, a swimming pool, tennis courts, and much more. Seasonal festivals are also located at Liberty Park throughout the year. Even though skiing isn't an option for visitors to Salt Lake City in the warm summer months, Salt Lake City offers a variety of outdoor activities and recreation that allow you to soak up some summer rays while you're having a great time with your family.
