The Musee du Fort in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada is a museum that recreates the civil and military history of Quebec City. It has been serving the public since 1965.
The museum faces the Chateau Frontenac and is located at 10 Sainte-Anne Street. It has seasonal hours. In February and March it's open Thursday to Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm. April to October the museum is open every day from 10 am to 5 pm. In November until the Christmas holidays the museum is open Thursday to Sunday 11 am to 4 pm. From December 26 to New Year's Eve the Musee du Fort is open every day.
The museum is always open for group reservations of 15 or more. School groups can enjoy and interactive quiz and 45-minute tour presented by trained, professional tour guides. For student groups the fee is $4. A maximum of 60 students can be in a group in the museum at one time.
For adult groups the museum has an impressive sound and light show and a 400 square foot model of what the area looked like in 1750. The sound and light show lasts for one hour. There are two permanent exhibits: Once Upon a Diorama and The Destiny of New France. Group rate discounts are available for groups of 15 to 55 adults. The group rate for adults is $5.25.
Regular general admission for adults is $7.50. Seniors pay $6.00 and students pay $5.00. With group rates there's one free admission.
The Musee du Fort has a boutique that has an assortment of military objects and a complete collection of history books.
