Espace 400e in Quebec City, Quebec

Located at rue Rioux, Basse-Ville in the lower town, the newly expanded and renovated pavilion named Espace 400e sits on what used to be the Centre d'Interpretation du Vieux-Port on the waterfront. Planned to provide the venue for Quebec's 400th anniversary celebrations, Espace 400e hosted performances, conferences and shows last year from June to September 2008.

A breathtaking splendor of programming was offered from the Espace 400e all the way to the wharf. From the Cabaret to the Ephemeral Gardens, what used to be the old port was awash with festivities and wild and crazy artistic creativity.

The architectural designs of the Espace 400e was first and foremost built to provide a venue of events of the summer of 2008. Once the celebrations were over, the Espace 400e became the venue of a permanent exhibit which examines the history of immigration to Canada. Seven-point-two million dollars was used in the completion of the renovation of this most recent addition to the beautifully planned out infrastructure in this capital city.
