In the fall months, Quebec City is a beautiful place to visit. With the leaves changing color and the weather turning cooler, the setting is picture-perfect for an exciting getaway. There are a number of Halloween and fall-themed activities and events that you can enjoy during your visit to Quebec City this fall.

The Church of Saint Roch is the largest church in Quebec City, and is located on the Rue Saint Joseph East, not far from the Saint Lawrence River. This grand church boasts gorgeous architecture and a rich history. Each fall, the Church of Saint Roch hosts the Quebec City Festival of Sacred Music. This even runs on select dates in both October and November each year. You can enjoy a variety of musical styles at this event, including Celtic, Corsican Polyphony, Gospel and Gregorian, and others. This grandiose event boasts stirring performances that celebrate a variety of types of sacred music.

Whale watching in Quebec City is typically at its peak viewing time in August, but the cooler weather of the fall months does not deter these creatures from surfacing. Rather the waves in the water during other times of the year can make it difficult to view the tales of these creatures. On calm days, the fall months are still a perfect time to go whale watching on the Saint Lawrence. The Whale Watching Observation Cruise takes you on a three hour narrated cruise along Quebec City's coastline. You will pass through the Saguenay Fjord known for its breathtaking beauty, and are guaranteed to see a few whales any time of year. With the whale watching season off of its main season, you can enjoy a relaxing and less hectic whale watching tour in the fall months.

The fall months are the perfect time of year for exploring the haunts and ghosts of Quebec City. On select dates in October each year, adults and kids alike will love experiencing the thrills of the Haunted Tower and Fantastic Rally. This self-guided tour takes you through the gardens of the Martello Tower 2, and through a spooky labyrinth that is sure to scare the candy out of you.

You can also explore dark history of Quebec City each year until Halloween with the Ghost Tour of Quebec. This guided tour begins at the rue du Petit Champlain, and is offered in both English and Spanish. You will walk with a lit lantern through the streets of Quebec City, hearing haunting tales of murder, executions, hauntings, and more. This tour is offered on select dates during evening hours in Quebec City.

The Halloween Lantern Tour departing from the Plains of Abraham is a popular tour for visitors to the Quebec City area during the Halloween season. This tour takes place on select evenings during the second half of October. With a tour guide at the lead and a lantern in hand, you will creep through the city under the cover of night, hearing tales of the city's past, including prosecution, murders, and more. This tour is available in French only.

Your fall getaway to Quebec City will be a memorable one when you take the time to enjoy all of the fall activities and events the city has to offer!
