Puerto Vallarta: Preparing for the WeatherPuerto Vallarta offers some of the best vacationing and relaxing in Mexico, but to successfully plan a trip to this beautiful tropical paradise, you have to be prepared for the weather eventualities. Like all tropical areas, Puerto Vallarta has a very stable temperature range, with the average temperature hovering around 86 degrees. Unlike North America, Puerto Vallarta sees little seasonal change, though the rainy season and dry season do have a pronounced demarcation. It is important to note that Puerto Vallarta, a tropical city, can see rainfall almost any day, but the downpours are relegated to the rainy season, which runs from the middle of June through the middle of October. If you are going to plan a trip to this fantastic destination, you should definitely account the rainy season in your plans. August tends to be the wettest month of the year in this city, though rainfall can occur throughout the year. Even during the rainy season, the storms are usually in the afternoon, so a great morning can be spent exploring the beauty and wonders of this Mexican resort town. If you visit Puerto Vallarta during the rainy season, come prepared. Though you can purchase all the rain gear you need right in town, it is handier to have it with you already. You will need to pack umbrellas and ponchos; if you are going to venture out during the afternoons during the rainy season, a change of clothes can be advisable. To visit the wonders of Puerto Vallarta with the least chance of rain, book your trip during the span of February through April. These are the months with the least amount of cloud cover and the least chance of rain. Even during the rainy season and the hurricane season, though, the climate in Puerto Vallarta is decidedly mild, though warm. It is much milder than many other areas along the Pacific Coast and, thus, more tourists and visitors find the city attractive year round. During the dry season, it is unlikely that you will be caught in any rain showers, though it is always a possibility in tropical areas. Being prepared with adequate rain gear is your best defense, though most times you will be able to leave it safely stowed in the trunk of your rental car. If you are caught during a downpour in the city of Puerto Vallarta, it can make a great excuse to spend some time in the quaint shops and amazing restaurants that dot the city. There is no better way to explore some of the hidden treasures within Puerto Vallarta than when it is storming outside. You will be able to shop and dine in intimate atmospheres, with some of the best service you will find anywhere. No matter what time of year you visit Puerto Vallarta, you will be assured of a great experience. There are many different tours available, with some amazing accommodations and fun experiences waiting for you in this beautiful southern city. |
