The Sierra Madre Expedition is the ideal way to explore the jungles and outback regions of the real Mexico in the Vallarta area. During this day long tour, expert guides take you on a Unimog 4X4 vehicle while you take fantastic photographs of the natural world around you. The tour also includes a visit to a local Mexican home, where guests will learn how to make corn tortillas, beans, and salsa.
The next phase of the activity is an eco-tour. Eco-guides take the tour deep into the forest vegetation where a 45 minute guided hike gets you up close and personal with the native flora and fauna of the jungle's canopy. The Sierra Madre Occidental supports some of the richest biodiversity found anywhere in North America, boasting a wide range of wildlife species including coyotes, margays, iguanas, white-tailed deer, jaguar, pumas, wild boars, ocelots, jaguarundi, and coati mundi. At the end of the tour day, complimentary drinks await you at the open bar in the al fresco beach where you can unwind and rest at Banderas Bay.
