Since its founding in 1970 by Dick and Nancy Ponzi, the Ponzi Vineyards has practiced winemaking that combines traditional techniques and modern innovations, producing many award-winning wines from Pinot Noir to Chardonnay. In addition to their own Estate Vineyard, the family manages several area vineyards for a total of one hundred acres of vines.
In 1998 the Ponzis founded a culinary center in Dundee which includes the Ponzi Wine Bar and the Dundee Bistro, which features regional dishes made from seasonal and sustainably farmed ingredients. The wine bar offers guests the chance to taste not only Ponzi wines, but those of more than seventy other vintners from throughout the state. Visitors are welcome to tour the original Estate Vineyard, view the cellar, and walk through the old vines on the historic grounds. A tasting room, open every day, provides a place to try the recent releases.
