Newly arrived to New York from their village in Northern Italy, Carlo and Rosa Marchesi defied the urban jungle by planting grapevines in their backyard and filling their cellar with barrels, bottles, and preserves. A move across the country and three generations later, the Marchesi family is still creating great wines from grapes grown, fermented, and bottled on their Montinore Estate. Visitors can stop in at the tasting room and listen to live music, sample the latest Estate offerings, and stock up on wine and gifts in the adjoining shop, or spread a blanket in the estate gardens and enjoy a picnic and country views.
