Built in 1935, it is considered one of the most prevalent examples of contemporary architecture at present. Spanning dramatically over the falls, you'll be awe-inspired by the sight of it. In the afternoon, you'll visit the Frank Lloyd Wright House on Kentucky Knob, where it is built within the mountainside. After that, you'll take a tasting tour of the Christian W. Klay Winery. Dinner in the evening will be enjoyed in a historic setting. This morning, you'll be whisked away to view George Washington's saddle pistol and original memoirs at Fort Ligonier. Later on in the afternoon, you'll have the choice of going white water rafting, taking a historic float trip, or unwinding at the seven springs mountain resort. White Water rafting on the Youghiogheny River will introduce you to an invigorating adventure where as the Historic float trip will be a gentle and comfortable ride where you don't get wet. Wrap up your day by indulging in the Labor Day Barbecue cookout.
Day 4 Begin the day by visiting the Flight 93 Memorial to pay respects to the innocents that perished on September 11, 2001. Then you'll stop at the Flight 93 Memorial Chapel where you can honor the crew and passengers with commemoration. In the afternoon, you will visit the Quecreek Mine Rescue Site where nine miners were rescued from being buried 240 feet below ground in July 2002. Dinner will be at the Rockwood Mill Shoppes and Opera House. Day 5 Pack your bags and say so long to the Laural Highlands as you head home.
