Phoenix Municipal Stadium in Phoenix, AZ is a large stadium where the Oakland A's hold their spring training each year and have for the past 17 years. The stadium seats 8,500 people and many of the people you see in the stadium are locals, as this is a very popular place. Their media facility there is state of the art and very impressive. There are locker rooms to store your belongs as well as ones being used by athletic teams. You won't need to bring a lunch with you, as there are concession stands nearby. There is also a picnic area on the grounds.
There is a lot of parking (although paid) near the stadium. The Phoenix Zoo and the Desert Botanical Gardens are both located very close to the Phoenix Municipal Stadium so why not make it an entire day for the family.
You'll probably be having such a great time at the Phoenix Municipal Stadium that you won't get to see and do all you wanted to in one day. This shouldn't be a concern because there are some excellent hotels and motels near the stadium where you can spend the night. Get a great night's sleep and head back to the stadium first thing in the morning.

The next closest to the stadium is Executive Suites Extended Stay on Scottsdale Road or Amerisuites Tempe Phoenix Airport on West Rio Salado Parkway.
