Oakland A's Spring Training Grounds in Phoenix, AZ
The Oakland A's are a professional baseball team in California. The A stands for 'Athletics' and refers to the athletic clubs that began in the early 19th century, and in particular Philadelphia Athletic. The Oakland team has an A as its motif and a white elephant mascot after they were branded 'white elephants' by a New York Giants manager.

The team moved to Kansas City and played as the Kansas City Athletics, but by 1968 the team was based in Oakland. The team was known as the Oakland A's during the 1970s although they are known as Oakland Athletics on the world series trophy. In 1972 the A's won the first of three World Series and an eventful series of 20 wins in a row.

Outdoor picnic and catering areas have improved, and the main concourse now has a time line of the Cactus League and the Phoenix Municipal along its length. The team store has a selection of team memorabilia and collectibles including photos and coins, as well as clothing, accessories and other team merchandise.
