Campbell's Field in Camden, NJ
Campbell's Field in Camden, NJ is an independent baseball park which hosts the Camden Sharks baseball team, part of the Atlantic League. Now the venue itself is rather basic when it comes to smaller baseball stadiums with 6,450 seats along with the requisite luxury suites and club seats. What is not so basic is the view!
This baseball field is established at the base of the Ben Franklin Bridge where the city of Philadelphia, PA resides. The views are spectacular and it's a wonder the fans even pay attention to the game! On the first baseline side you can view the skyline and the bridge, which is quite striking as the sun sets and the lights start to twinkle. The press box is on the concourse level and the decks in the upper section are a bit asymmetrical which gives them a jaunty look.
Families will love coming to Campbell's Field because of the picnic pavilion and the Acme Fun Zone. Plus, there is always some entertaining stuff going on between the inning games. The food concessions are actually quite reasonable so families won't break the bank getting some hot dogs and drinks during a game.
Parking is not the challenge it is in other parks. You can find parking quite close to Campbell's Field and exiting after the game is not a major worry either. The stadium and field itself is just what you might find in other venues but it will win hands down because of the unique spectacular views. Come for the game or come for the views ... either way, it's a win-win situation.
