Art Alliance in Philadelphia, PA is one of the oldest multidisciplinary arts centers in the United States. A multidisciplinary art center is one that deals in many types of art or art disciplines. An artist that does oil paintings and nothing else, therefore, would not be a multidisciplinary artist. The Art Alliance has literary, visual and performing arts at the Art Alliance for the entire Philadelphia community to enjoy. The audience will be able to see firsthand how creative each artist can be when performing. The Art Alliance is in the Rittenhouse Square. If you would like to broaden your horizons, you have to go there to view their exhibitions or participate in some of their public programs.
Some of the most recent public programs the Art Alliance has offered are Cabaret PAA with composer Michael Ogborn; wine tasting with Moore Brothers Wine Company; book signing and discussion with Jim McClelland, freelance art writer; film lecture series among many other interesting programs. Check their schedule to find one that fits your many interests.
As part of the performing arts series, Liebesfreud will perform great literature to the string quartet. Teresa Leo will amaze you with her excellent spellbinding poetry reading.
The Art Alliance also sponsors a program called At Liberty: Creativity, Citizenship and the 1st Amendment. The program is a group of five lessons all related to the relationship between art and the first amendment. The students will get handouts, online resources and well as discussion groups. Information on many of their programs can be found online on the Art Alliance webpage.
Many fundraisers are sponsored to make money to go towards the Art Alliance in an effort to promote more artists and their work.
