The Mummers Parade is an internationally recognized parade that puts fun and revelry at the forefront to ring in the new year with an all day parade filled with outrageous antics.
Parade participants are broken into four groups: the Comic Division, the Fancy Division, the String Band Division and the Fancy Brigades Division. Each offers their own unique input to the parade. Side splitting antics, elaborate outfits and a host of percussive and string instruments will all combine for one of the greatest parades in the nation. The Mummers Parade has been a Philadelphia tradition for more than a century and only grows better with time. This year be sure to witness the grand spectacle that is the Mummers Parade.
Along with the actual parade, a Broadway-style performance competition normally take place after the actual parade at the Philadelphia Convention Center. The show is put on by the Mummers Fancy Brigade.
