Shopping in Philadelphia, PA

Regardless of what you happen to be looking for you can find a variety of shopping options throughout Philadelphia. From antiques to electronics, from the latest trends to vintage classics; it's all in Philadelphia. Even if you are only window shopping, you will find that browsing the many different stores in the City of Brotherly Love can provide an interesting way to spend some time.

Center City

In Center City, shoppers will find a delightful variety of shops including the Gallery, your usual urban shopping mall, as well as a number of specialty shops. A large number of retail shops can also be found situated in small, neighborhood type pockets.

Chestnut Hill

Chestnut Hill is the perfect place to browse for antiques as you wander along cobbled avenues. In addition to a wide variety of antique shops, you will also find a myriad of some of the best retail chains in the city.

Franklin Mills Mall

This expansive mall features some of the most well known retail and manufacturer's outlets including Last Call Neiman Marcus, Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store and OFF 5th Saks Fifth Avenue. There are also several high quality entertainment options including Jillian's, AMC Theatres and ESPN X-Games Skatepark. In total, there are more than 200 factory and value outlet stores inside Franklin Mills Mall. The mall is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 am until 9:30 pm. On Sunday, the mall opens at 11:00 am and closes at 7:00 pm.

Old City

This is one of the most shopper friendly districts in the entire area. Whether you are looking for art galleries, hip boutiques, retro clothing and house wares or New Age designs, you will find it all right here in Old City. For the most part, Old City is a mixture of style and art, with new boutiques opening on a frequent basis.

Main Street Manayunk

At one time this street was typical of a mill town; however, today it is the shopping mecca of the area. The street runs just a bit over a half a mile long and includes more than 65 galleries and shops as well as a number of restaurants. Look for Pacific Rim relics to modern house wares while you are here. You will find a wide variety of items including designer clothing.

South Street

Situated between South Philly and Center City, South Street is one of the busiest areas in the city. Visitors will find an eclectic variety of shops offering a wide array of merchandise. South Street is home to more than 300 shops and five dozen different eateries. While you typically will not find chain retail stores on South Street, you will find a host of independently owned stores; each with their own unique and different flair.

Rittenhouse Square

If you are looking for name brand, Rittenhouse Square is the place to go. Most of the higher-end shops are located in this district. The area is practically brimming with national retailers, haute couture boutiques, art galleries, specialty shops and a large number of upscale restaurants.
