Purple Sage in Park City, UT is housed in a solid building on Main Street which was once the local telephone company back in the late 19th century. Today, it is an overhauled wonder with a distinctly refined American Western theme with hints of the new Southwest. To say that this upscale restaurant is gorgeous would be an understatement.
The atmosphere is inviting with comfortably cushioned purple booths which have lampshades made of soft purplish milk glass to create a soft glowing light effect. This soft glow translates into a lovely intimate setting to enjoy your meal. The wall mural along the back depicts gorgeous blue skies, America's purple mountain majesty and plenty of bronco rider action.
Enough of the décor ... a restaurant is only as good as its food, which is a definite plus in the Purple Sage. The food has a certain new Southwestern/Old West type of flair as reflected in a juicy steak filet with a slight kick thanks to the special meat rub or the tequila lime sauce on sautéed chicken and fettuccine. The mini-corn muffins served at the beginning of your dining experience are so fragrant and tasty that you may want to sneak a few to go in your purse or pocket!
Patrons of the Purple Sage who dine privately upstairs have a view of skiers traversing down a ski run or even the people on the sidewalks below during the winter months while in the summer time, they can dine on the deck shaded by umbrellas. Don't expect lunch at the Purple Sage as they only serve dinner, seven days a week.
