Discover the incredible culture of the Cahuilla Indians with the Indian Cultural Adventure Jeep Tour, where you'll encounter an ancient Cahuilla village, see petroglyphs, and learn about their way of life along the San Andreas Fault. As you start out, you'll head through the palm oasis as your guide shares stories of survival faced by the Cahuilla Indians as they learned to adapt to their harsh environment along the fault.

You'll then visit the ancient village of Palteewet, which is a registered archaeological site that has been recreated to represent how the village looked 3,000 years ago. You'll even have the opportunity to participate in an archaeological dig at the site! In addition, you will be able to explore the kishes and other structures at the village.

Details

• Price includes naturalist guided Jeep tour with snacks and bottled water.
• The tour lasts approximately 3.5 hours.
• Photography is welcome and encouraged.
• Each Jeep can carry up to 7 passengers.
• All guides are CPR and First Aid trained, and go through an extensive training program before leading the eco-tours.
• Comfortable, layered clothing is recommended, and close-toed shoes are required. We suggest bringing sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.
• There will be some walking required during the excursion.
• The tour is recommended for ages 4 and up. Children between the ages of 4 and 6, and those who are under 60 pounds must be in an approved child safety seat. Guests must bring their own car seat.
