Formerly known as Arlington Books, the Bytown Bookstore, with its treasure trove of books and literature, is a bookworm's dream-come-true!
Located at Arlington Avenue in Ottawa, the bookshop was re-inaugurated in 2006 and has continued to enthrall readers with an eclectic array of books ever since. The store houses some of the rarest volumes in the world, while also a comprehensive collection of antiquated documents and maps.
In keeping with the diverse and often school-going clientele it caters to, the Bytown Bookshop also deals in secondhand, well-maintained copies. And hence, if price is the only factor keeping you from getting your own copy of the novel you've always coveted, then you can be sure to find something that fits well within your budget at Bytown. Some of the bookshop's more noteworthy acquisitions include Australia's Oldest Printed Document, out of print editions of books and also rare maps.
The Bytown Bookshop also organizes fabulous sales and discounts from time to time as well as book launches and readings. The staff is friendly, helpful and will often volunteer to help you find the most viable alternative if you are flummoxed by the overwhelming assortment on display.
The Bytown Bookshop welcomes visitors from 4 pm to 7 pm, Wednesday through Friday, 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday and 11 am to 5 pm on Sunday.
