In 1945, the princess of the Netherlands extended 100,000 tulips towards Canada in appreciation for helping her country in World War 2. Today, Canada uses the Canadian Tulip Festival as a way to commemorate this friendship, as well as honor the tulip. Throughout the week long celebration, visitors of Ottawa are sure to find a wide variety of things to do.

Festival events are set to include an art festival, concert series, garden tours, parades and much more. So, whether you'd prefer to stroll through a calm meadow of tulips or be at a jam-packed rock concert, the range of possibilities is endless at the Canadian Tulip Festival.
