Discover the Capitol Tour
The Discover the Capitol Tour takes you through the historic city, stopping at all the major attractions, and even lets you hop on and off when you feel the need to see something a little closer. Beginning on the corner of Sparks and Elgin Streets, the Discover the Capital Tour lets you hop on or off at over 15 points of major interest in the capital area. In addition, one ticket is good for two days worth of sightseeing and exciting touring around the city. Tour the city in an open top Double Decker bus or an authentic trolley car and get the best experience in Ottawa.
If you choose to remain aboard for the entire 1 ½ hour tour, you'll get to enjoy a full, professional narration showcasing each point of interest, historic facts, local culture and much more. Don't worry about missing the tour, either; it runs in an continuous circle around the city, beginning at 10 am until 3 pm. Make sure you visit during May through October, though; the tour does not operate the rest of the year. You'll visit Parliament Hill, the Notre Dame Basilica, Rideau Hill, the Canadian Aviation Museum, Byward Market and the Canadian Museum of Civilization, as well as learning about interesting local facts, figures and heritage.
