Annual Christmas in the Park at Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art

Join the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum in welcoming the holiday season with it annual celebration of Christmas in the Park. On the first Thursday in December, the museum ushers in the Yule festivities by lighting up Tiffany windows and presenting concerts by the Bach Festival Choir, Youth Choir and a Brass Ensemble.

Founded by Jeannette Genius McKean in 1942, the museum was named in honor of her grandfather, an industrialist and philanthropist in Chicago. Begun in 1979, Christmas in the Park was begun with the goal of sharing a part of the McKean's collection of rare Tiffany with the public in a non-formal way.

Nine windows were installed in the park, to provide a backdrop for the choirs. Eight of these were created by Tiffany Studios, memorializing religious themes, and were intended for the 1908 chapel constructed for the Association for the Relief of Respectable Aged Indigent Females in New York.
