Autumn is a great time to visit Orlando, with the crowds of summer easing and more temperate weather moving in. Along with the many exciting year-round attractions you can enjoy in Orlando, fall also brings a number of popular special events.

The Disney attractions are a popular Orlando destination, and Animal Kingdom is the Disney park to be at this fall. At Animal Kingdom, you can enjoy a unique twist to the normal thrills and fun of the theme park by combining it with Halloween excitement at the Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween party. On select dates From September 1 through October 31, the whole family get in the Halloween spirit when you put on your Halloween costume and head to the Animal Kingdom for trick-or-treating combined with the Animal Kingdom's regular features. You'll want to stick around for the Halloween parade, which will feature Haunted Mansion stars as well as plenty of special effects for a truly magical experience. Lodging close to the Animal Kingdom include the Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Disney Coronado Springs, and the Holiday Inn Maingate West.

There are plenty of festivities taking place this fall at Epcot as well. The Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival runs from September 25 through November 8. During the festival, you will enjoy fabulous blooms in the colors of the season located throughout the park, as well as plenty of workshops, landscaping tips, and more. Later from September25 through November 8, make plans to attend the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. This popular culinary event brings you fabulous cuisine from around the world. You can sample sushi, escargot, burgers, and so much more.  The festival also includes samples of wine from the Northern California area, as well as areas throughout the US and internationally. In addition to sampling great food and wines, you can also take part in education food and wine programs, as well as musical entertainment. You can stay close to the action at Epcot by staying at one of the many nearby hotels, including the Disney Yacht Club Resort, the Disney Boardwalk Inn, the Disney Boardwalk Villas, the Disney Port Orleans Resort, and others.

You will want to make time to shop your heart out on your Orlando getaway, and there's no better time to shop in Orlando than Fashion Week at Mall at the Mall at Millennia. This event runs from October 19 through October 25, and brings you a fashion show at the Grand Court, special guest appearances, champagne receptions, trunk shows, and more. The collections shown include top designers such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Tiffany, Jimmy Choo, and Gucci. There are a number of fine hotels close to the Mall at Millennia, including the Nickelodeon Family Suites, the Quality Inn and Suites at Universal Studios, Wingate by Wyndham Orlando, and the Best Western Universal Inn.
