Northside Park in Norfolk, VA is 51 acres of wonderful amenities like some of the best picnic grounds in the state. The area just begs for you to spend time in the great outdoors with a favorite sport of picnic meal. There are five picnic shelters that are rather large as well as 12 smaller shelters and even a roadside area for picnics. The park is located about two miles south of the Chesapeake Bay.

Families adore the Northside Park for many reasons. The best one in particular is because of Imagination Island, the largest community built playground state-wide. It definitely sparks the imagination of many children who play there, and even the adults are often wide-eyed about it when they see it for the first time.

There are tennis courts available as well as two softball fields equipped for night play with lights, two basket ball courts and even a nature trail where you can run or walk.
