For many people that do not know what the Norfolk Scope is, it is a large arena that has many different things/activities in it. In fact, most likely if there is a large indoor event coming to Norfolk; chances are is that it will be held at the Norfolk Scope Arena. One great thing about the Scope Arena is that is it a city owned arena; and that it is located downtown.
The Norfolk Scope Arena was originally built in 1971. Besides it being an older yet newer complex, it is also a very big complex. In fact, the arena is large enough to hold more than 13,000 people! Besides the arena being big and holding a lot of fans, it is also a very flexible arena. By that, it has modular exhibit halls as well as meeting rooms which can be good for small and large groups; whether it is for a private meeting, conventions or exhibits.
Most likely when people hear about the Norfolk Scope Arena it is because there is some sort of sports event that is happening there. In fact, the Scope arena is the home of the Norfolk Admirals; who are part of the National Hockey League, the Norfolk Nighthawks; who is the arenas football team and have already become very popular in Norfolk.
Some of the other events that may take place at the Norfolk Scope Arena are the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, different types of concerts, several different ice shows, Old Dominion Basketball, and different types of family concerts.
No matter the purpose of going to the Scope Arena, you will be sure to love it! In fact, the arena is such a great place to have events that many people go back numerous times because of the arena!
