The Campostella Center is located on Leake Street in Norfolk, Virginia. The Campostella Center is one of the many recreation centers that the city sponsors. The aim is to provide the community with neighborhood parks and waterways to enrich the life of the city and its people.
The Campostella Center offers all kinds of recreational activities aimed at all sections of the community, from children and parents, to young people and senior citizens the recreational center hopes to offer activities that will appeal to all people of all ages. Currently activities include health and physical activities along with an appreciation of culture and of outdoor and environmental education through the development of personal and life skills.
The service is supplied by the City Council as part of a continuum of services that are designed to enrich personal and community experience of living in the area. The recreational centers in the city are open at weekends from afternoon through to evening and from afternoon to evening on summer weekdays. Families and individuals can get a facility card which allows them to use the parks and the pools and to participate in the programs and activities that the Center has on offer. There are also facilities for licensed day care which promotes children's happy and healthy development.
