The Poultry Fest features the chicken chariot race; though you will not find Charlton Heston in these chariots. These chariots are crafted and then driven by chickens for prizes, prestige, and honor. For this festival alone, a trip to Smithville is well worth it. Every Labour Day weekend Smithville holds an agricultural fair with attractions such as a demolition derby and the battle of the bands.
Smithville has every modern need and amenity that any resident or visitor could need. Doctors, department stores, and, of course, lodgings are available. While tourists will visit for a great out of the way place to stay while seeing the Niagara Falls; they will fall in love with the charm and quirks of Smithville.
