Rainbow Tower, Niagara Falls, ON.
The Carillon Tower, also known as the Rainbow Tower, is a set of 55 cup-shaped bells, which are played by a manual touch-sensitive keyboard. Originated in the 16th centuries, the carillon usually is an outdoor instrument, with bronze bells fixed in a tower belfry or, in some modern examples, on an open frame. The Carillon has the widest dynamic range of any mechanical musical instrument. The Rainbow Tower, in Niagara Falls, was built in 1947, stands 168 feet tall, and consists of 55 musical bells. Stop by this great site and take a moment to listen to the beautiful musical serenade that floats through the air.
