Continuing a longstanding family tradition, the Pillitteri Winery is recognized as the world's largest estate producer of Icewine and one of the most innovative, creating a wide variety of Icewines, including the first commercially produced Shiraz Icewine.
The winery has earned over 400 medals at prestigious international wine competitions, including the coveted Civart Trophy, and three Grand Golds from Vinitaly for their renowned Icewines. The Pillitteri Wineries has a state of the art winery with one of the largest underground cellars in Canada. Their philosophy, to produce the finest wines possible from the highest quality grapes grown in Niagara has been the heart of the operation and has ultimately won them many awards. Most recently, the winery won "Best Red" at Cuvee 2006 for its 2002 Cabernet Franc Family Reserve. Complimentary tours of this great facility are offered, including the barrel cellar and a sample tasting from the wineries wide range of premium award winning stock.The Pillitteri Winery also has a retail boutique and country market with outdoor patios, on site.
The winery also features seasonal weekend barbecues and trolley tours, tutored wine tastings along with food and wine pairings.
