Though it's closed to the public now, the Niagara Falls Railway Museum in Niagara Falls, Ontario, is a great resource for preserving railway history- and if you're lucky, your visit may fall on one of their railway shows. Locomotive lovers, and especially children fascinated by trains, will love to visit the grounds of this location. There are several restored train cars and, sometimes, volunteers work to preserve these artifacts, which is interesting to observe in itself.
Other collections include postcards, maps, and tickets from the heyday of rail travel. There are also many boxcars, track tools, and a great number of other equipment. Each year on March 4th, this museum goes on the road to Optimist Park Hall in order to display some of their artifacts and model trains as well, at their annual Niagara Falls Model Railway Show.
