Visit one of America's top outdoor locations at Golden Hill State Park in Barker, New York, located approximately 39 miles from Niagara Falls. Visitors can enjoy all sorts of activities here at Golden Hill State Park. There are campsites available, boat launch sites, playgrounds, nature trails, playing fields for ball games, and much, much more. As a special added treat, visitors can also view the historical Thirty Mile Lighthouse. It was decommissioned by the U.S. Coast Guard in 1958, but with the help of a few volunteers, it remains a proud landmark of this state park. This lighthouse originally provided keepers quarters, and keepers assistant quarters.
Feel free to pack a lunch and eat at the park, as there are picnicking spots available, including handicap accessible pavilions. No matter what season you visit, you can have a good time. This park is a very popular destination for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. This park is open year round. Camping season runs from mid-April to mid-October. Hunting for small game and waterfowl is allowed when in season. Household pets are allowed, but remember to bring either a leash or a cage.
