Salute the tomato with a full day of family fun at the Niagara Falls Bigga Tomatafest.
The fun begins at 11 a.m. at Queenston Heights Park and lasts all day until 5 p.m. Visitors can try tastey tomato dishes that are prepared by chefs from around Niagara Falls. Children will love watching the grown men squish the tomatoes between their toes in the Tomato Stomping event. Italian food lovers will enjoy the Besta Sauce Contest. Locals will enter their best homemade tomato sauce in a competition to win great prizes and local fame.
Of course, the Bigga Tomatafest wouldn't be complete without the Bigga Tomato Contest. Adults and children alike can enter their biggest tomatos in a contest sponsored by Guiness World Records Museum. Besides the biggest tomato, prizes will also be awarded for the most unusual and the smallest. Live entertainment will be provided all night long, and there will also be activities especially for the little ones. Kids can get their faces painted, play on the giant inflatable slide, and much more.
