What's New in Niagara Falls, ON
Niagara Falls is one of the most popular vacation spots in the country and it is changing everyday with new events and attractions. Here's some of what is new in the area:
The Parks, Recreation, and Culture Center of Niagara Falls is evolving with improvements to exisitng parks and trails, as well as adding area shows to educate and entertain the public on culture . The city is growing all the time, perhaps one of the biggest changes since 1996 is the government-controlled gambling. Casino Niagara was introduced in 1996, and is the catalyst for this change and growth. 2 billion dollars worth of growth, to be exact-to invest in the building of many new area restaurants, golf courses, accommodations, and attractions. A second $1 billion dollars for Niagara Fallsview Casino Complex, which opened in 2004, has brought about even more growth. Even more recently, downtown Niagara Falls has began to take shape with companies like Great Wolf Lodge and Ripley's adding new developments. The $200 million dollar year-round family resort is scheduled to open in the Spring of 2006, and in 2007, a world-class Ripley's Aquarium of Canada will open. A new Las Vegas type family show starring Greg Frewin has come to Niagara, as well as 3 new water parks for anyone wanting to make a big splash this summer. Featured are indoor Water slides, tipping buckets, pools, wave pools, and whirlpools, so actually it is Summer all the time! There are already over 20 world-class golf courses in the area for the golf lover, and next year, two more are scheduled to open, and Niagara's own Streets of Fun has a new look and new attractions added. It has been said that great things never change, and in many cases this is true, but in the case of Niagara Falls, the good things haven't changed, but great new things are coming along to reshape the city all the time. |
