Niagara Falls Shopping Options

A trip to Niagara Falls is not complete without searching for some souvenirs and gifts to take back home with you! And luckily, for those who love to shop, the Niagara Falls area is blessed with lots of shopping choices, from larger one-stop shopping malls, to many one-of-a-kind locally-owned specialty shops, to shops featuring tasty, homemade treats!

Shopping Malls

  • Niagara Falls has both factory outlet malls for super savings as well as regular shopping malls. Outlet malls include Prime Outlets and Rainbow Centre (both on the American side), and Canada One Outlet (on the Ontario side).
  • If you think of shopping as an experience, then you have to go to The Pen Centre, Niagara's largest shopping area with 170 stores and an amazing 1 million square feet! Originally built in 1957 as the Niagara Peninsula Centre, this mall has evolved and grown over time and now includes an 8-screen stadium-seating movie theater, glow-in-the-dark mini-golf course, giant chess board and an International Food Court Amphitheatre in addition to its many shops! Retailers include Old Navy, Pier 1, Gap and Gap Kids to name just a few of the larger stores. The Pen Centre is the place to find it all: electronics, books & stationery, footwear, home furnishings, jewelry and specialty stores, and also full-service and fast food restaurants.
  • Another Niagara area mall is Niagara Square, 7555 Montrose Road, Ontario, featuring a variety of stores and a 10-screen movie theatre.

Specialty Shops

  • The Niagara Falls area is also full of unique specialty shops -- the perfect places to find all of those one-of-a-kind gifts and souvenirs you really want as a reminder of the Falls area.
  • Souvenir City is a great place to find everything Niagara Falls: postcards, posters, art, literature, placemats and calendars. They also carry clothing, jewelry and gifts.
  • The Blue Moose Trading Company in the Clifton Hill District also features gifts and souvenirs, including maple syrup and maple cookies, collectibles, pottery, sun catchers and crystal items.
  • For nature lovers, Feather in the Glen: Bird & Nature Store is paradise! Located next to hiking trails and picnic areas, Feather in the Glen features birdhouses, birdfeeders, birdseed, carved birds, clothing and gifts.
  • The best place to make a custom gift is at Global Candles Canada, where the friendly staff specializes in making candles to customer specification, from color to design. ring in a logo, names of a bride and groom, artwork or an inscription and watch as Global Candles creates a special one-of-a-kind candle just for you! Kids especially enjoy the opportunity to do the "wax hand-dipping" at the shop.

Snacks

  • After hours of shopping fun, when the hunger starts to hit, stop by Clifton Gate Store. They've been providing sweet treats since 1937, including fudge, ice cream, popcorn and candyfloss. They've also got souvenirs and film! Located just north of the maid of the mist, Clifton Gate Store makes a convenient snack stop before or after your Niagara Falls cruise.

If you're searching for the perfect gift for a friend or family member or just wanting a nice souvenir for yourself, you'll be sure to find it in the many shopping areas of Niagara Falls. Whether your taste is modern or traditional, eclectic or conventional, the malls and shops of Niagara Falls will have just the thing for you!
