Learn more about the culture and history of St Catharines, Ontario when you tour the St Catharine's Museum at Lock 3. When you visit this exciting and educational museum, you will get an up close view of international shops as they navigate their way through the Welland Canal. Inside the museum, you can learn more about the four canals in the Welland Canal system through a short, fifteen minute video. The museum also features a number of interesting exhibits and displays on the industry, culture, and social history of the area.

The many exhibits you will find include those covering the legacy of African Canadians in the area, the Underground Railroad, the history of the Lacrosse, the evolution of the canal system, how locks work, how fugitive slaves followed the North Star to find freedom and more. The museum hosts temporary displays as well, making this an exciting museum to visit again and again.
