Commissioned for service in World War II the USS Intrepid aircraft carrier was one of the most successful ships in US History, and is now a national historic landmark and one of the most popular attractions in New York City. In addition to its service in the last great war, the USS Intrepid also served as a primary recovery vehicle for NASA. Now, the museum features all kinds of exhibits and events.
