While the Frick Collection may not be as large as such contemporaries as
The Museum of Modern Art or the
Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Frick Collection's content is every bit as impressive as any museum in New York City. The museum is actually housed in the same Manhattan mansion that Henry Clay Frick lived in. While paintings are what the Frick Collection is most well-noted for, it also houses a variety of enamel, furniture and porcelain as well.
Artists featured in the Frick Collection include John Constable, Thomas Gainsborough, El Greco, Rembrandt and Anthony van Dyck. No where in all of New York City, or the United States for that matter, will you find such an inviting, intimate museum with such rare works of master paintings. If you're an art fanatic you'll definitely want to visit the Frick, and if you're not the Frick Collection may be just the thing you need to pique your interests.
