Luxury Exhibit at The Fashion Institute of Technology, New York, NY

Glittering diamonds, rustling silks, airy chiffon and opulent brocades herald the elegance and style the Luxury Exhibit at Fashion Institute of Technology. The New York City fashion fantasia displays every style imaginable at the institute's Fashion and Textile History Gallery. The exhibit runs from May through November.

Since 1944, the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) has given students the tools to prepare themselves for the reality of the fashion industry, by creating a synergy of creativity and practicality. The institute offers academic curricula in more than 30 fashion-related fields, from design, illustration and photography, to fabric styling and computer-based animation and more.

From humble beginnings with barely 100 students, to the more than 10,000 enrolled recently, the institute offers degrees at the associate's, bachelor's and master's level.

The FIT also houses one of the most extensive fashion and textile collections, with the goal of documenting, conserving and interpreting these items.
